UnIt is the beginning of the winter travel season, and I have convinced CAMarchand to come along for a few weeks in the Scottish Highlands.
Since she is an avid hiker that is mostly what we are doing.
Plus tracking down some of the historic sites of this ancient land. Between 8000 and 10,000 years ago as the glaciers retreated prehistoric peoples began to settle here. They left their burial sites, capped with a pile of stones. And their standing stone constructions that tracked the movements of the sun and the moon.
As well as the occasional castle.
We are having great weather for a part of the world famous for the onslaught of gusty rain.
Here are a few pictures from a nice hike down near Glenco. A particularly beautiful area. This was up to the secret valley of the Campbells.
This is a terse little blog, because of computer 0roblems. Actually just managed to post it.
Anyway, we are heading up to the isle of Skye next. Hopefully can do better there.
